INGREDIENTS

Ginger (Zingiber officinalis) Oil

HOW TO USE

Ginger CO2’s stimulating warmth can be really beneficial when used in massage to sooth overworked muscles. Always dilute in an unscented carrier oil like Grapeseed oil for the perfect massage.  It’s a great oil to blend with citruses and amazing with Cocoa CO2 extract in an oil burner for a warming aroma of ginger and chocolate.

TO NOTE:  Do not use in pregnancy or when breastfeeding.  Do a patch test 24 hours prior to first use to test for sensitivities and always use diluted at the correct ratio.  Not suitable for use on children.

Key Features

  • CO2 EXTRACTCO2 extraction is a process using pressurised CO2 to extract all botanical materials from the plant, creating a pure, clean, high-quality oil with no solvent residue. CO2 extracts are generally more representative of the original plant material than oils extracted by other means such as steam distillation or solvent extraction as it is a much gentler process.
  • AROMATHERAPY –This Ginger CO2 extract is so close to the scent of fresh-cut ginger.  Its fresh zinginess can be extremely uplifting and motivating and it blends so well with a myriad of other scents too so is very versatile: citrus oils will enhance its freshness and spicy oils will bring out its warmth.  It is characteristically warm and spicy but with a definite citrussy-fresh feel.

  • HOW TO USE – Ginger is a ‘Select’ extract, so it can be used for diffusion. It’s a useful one to sniff straight from the bottle if experiencing motion sickness and it has been used for years in massage blends to sooth sore joints and muscle complaints.  It has also been used in Chinese medicine and other ancient recipes to be a great hair booster and to aid the reduction of hair fall.
  • QUALITY – 100% Pure and natural, premium quality CO2 Ginger extract. Vegan, GMO-free, cruelty-free, and sustainably sourced from Nigeria. Latin name: Zingiber officinalis.

Ginger CO2, a fresh, Spicy, Natural Scent

A deep yellow fluid.  Revitalising, warming, gets the energy flowing, soothing to the muscular/skeletal system and supports and soothes the digestive system when used in massage, diluted in a carrier oil. This CO2 extract smells just like a freshly cut piece of root ginger and a little goes a long way so use sparingly. Highly citrusy, spicy and comforting.

What is the difference between a CO2 Select and CO2 Total Extract?

Total extracts – These require higher pressure and low temperatures during extraction, with the resultant extract containing a high proportion of compounds such as fatty acids, waxes, resins, and any plant pigments. The oil is similar in nature to a complete extraction of all the Phyto-botanical materials. They are often semi solid or solid and must be gently warmed to use them like a liquid.

Select extracts – Require low pressure and low temperature with the resultant liquid/extract being made up of only volatile material. This method avoids thermal degradation, avoids oxidation and the result can be used like an essential oil. The oil differs from the distilled or solvent extracted version as it can have a very different chemical composition. Select extracts contain between 35% to 95% essential oil along with fatty acids and other fatty substances.

This Ginger has been grown and distilled in Nigeria, then tested on site at our Hampshire laboratories to ensure excellent quality.
