Frankincense, a deeply comforting and supportive CO2 Extract
A light, yellow fluid. Widely recorded in ancient civilisations as part of spiritual and religious practice, this extract is intensely relaxing, soothing and comforting. Renowned for its natural antibacterial effects and for multiple skin benefits. Promotes deep breathing so it is a great oil to diffuse when resting or during meditation or Yoga and Pilates.
What is the difference between a CO2 Select and CO2 Total Extract?
Total extracts – These require higher pressure and low temperatures during extraction, with the resultant extract containing a high proportion of compounds such as fatty acids, waxes, resins, and any plant pigments. The oil is similar in nature to a complete extraction of all the Phyto-botanical materials. They are often semi solid or solid and must be gently warmed to use them like a liquid.
Select extracts – Require low pressure and low temperature with the resultant liquid/extract being made up of only volatile material. This method avoids thermal degradation, avoids oxidation and the result can be used like an essential oil. The oil differs from the distilled or solvent extracted version as it can have a very different chemical composition. Select extracts contain between 35% to 95% essential oil along with fatty acids and other fatty substances.
Why is our Frankincense CO2 Extract so great?
To source the best natural oil suppliers, we travel the world and only opt for oils from controlled, sustainable sources that have little or no negative impact on the environment. This Frankincense has been sourced from Somalia, and is a highly concentrated extract of the resin of the Boswellia tree. When it reaches us it is then tested on site at our Hampshire laboratories to ensure excellent quality.
In addition, none of the Absolute Aromas products are tested on animals, and all are vegan and free from GM materials.
How to use
Frankincense is highly prized in the perfume industry and is a beautiful oil to diffuse to encourage calmness and serenity. Blend it with Sweet Orange and Sandalwood Essential Oils and add to an oil burner during relaxation or meditation.
TO NOTE: Do not use in pregnancy or when breastfeeding. Do a patch test 24 hours prior to first use to test for sensitivities and always use diluted at the correct ratio. Not suitable for use on children.
